Designing a Corporate Wellness Program:
Lifestyle Change Programs
Lifestyle change programs are programs where employees have decided they are ready to make a change. It is critical for a corporate health program to include lifestyle change programs so that employees have the assistance they need to make healthy changes. Employees have become aware of a health concern, sought out information, and are ready to implement change in their lives.
Lifestyle change programs usually cost more per person than awareness activities because it is important to have several points of contact to help keep the behavior changed over time. Lifestyle change programs would be an employee enrolling in a smoking cessation program. Examples of other lifestyle change programs include weight loss programs, aerobics classes, walking clubs, and nutrition programs/counseling.
